About

Michael Schiltz

Fractional CCO. Engineer by training. I build the sales system your company needs before you hire the team to run it.

Why I do this

I help founders replace founder-led sales with a repeatable system. I'm a fractional Chief Commercial Officer (sometimes called a fractional CRO or head of sales) based in Austin, Texas, and I work with companies that have real traction and budget but still depend on the founder, or on hope, to close deals.

As your fractional CCO, I lead the front half of your revenue system: the message, ICP, sales process and pipeline. Customer success and partnerships are scoped separately.

I started Revvd Up because I kept seeing the same shortcut. Founders who believed they had product-market fit hired experienced salespeople with big networks and asked them to "figure it out." I've been one of those hires. Too often my teams and I were building the plane while flying it, instead of running a sales team on a system that already worked. Great products stalled, and founders stayed stuck closing every deal themselves.

I was trained as an electrical engineer, and I still think like one. I treat sales as a system: define the ideal customer, design the process, make every step repeatable and efficient, then measure and improve it. That's the GTM Engine, the framework behind my book and my work at bitcoin++, where sponsorship sales were rebuilt and annual revenue tripled year over year.

Away from work, I'm a husband and a proud dad of three. I've been building businesses for most of my career, and I'm a bitcoiner at heart.

Who I work with

  • Founders who are still the main closer on every deal.
  • Companies that hired experienced salespeople to "figure it out" before a real sales system existed.
  • Businesses with real traction and budget, but not yet big enough to have a proven sales process.
  • B2B SaaS and technical platforms first, and other complex sales too: right now that includes an oil and gas investment firm selling to accredited investors, and a startup building a $1B+ data center that draws on my bitcoin mining and energy infrastructure experience. I've also advised a fund serving owners of large land holdings.

How I work

  • Systems first: define the ideal customer, design the process, make each step repeatable, then measure and tune it.
  • ICP and messaging built from the buyer's view, using my Out of Body Experience method.
  • Discovery and sales process design your team can run without you in the room.
  • Sales playbooks, training and enablement for your first reps or your current team.
  • CRM and pipeline setup in HubSpot or Salesforce, so the system is visible and measurable.
  • Pricing, packaging and deal structure that make buying easy.
